Fishing Lures and Fondant Roses

My twelve year old son is an avid fisherman. He recently decided to create his own fishing lures. He carves, sands, paints, applies hooks, and lips for lures all by hand, with no help from dad or me.
Here's what he has made so far,and yes they work. He's been catching bass out of the pond.

10 year old Rosy Posy has taught herself how to make fondant, and create roses out of the fondant. No kidding! She got on you tube and looked it up.
My kids never cease to amaze me! Let me tell you. I'm always running around worrying if everyone is learning enough, and nagging everyone to death, about how much computer, and x-box time they spend wasting away....lol....with creative people like this. Worrying be gone!

  1. I homeschool too and always worry that we aren't "learning" enough. I find it amazing that your kids sound a lot like mine...pursuing what interests them. The fishing lures are great and the roses beautiful.

My son taught himself all the states and capitals and knows more about geography than anyone else I know:)

  2. Wow Ma, that's cool that your son taught himself all of the states and capitals! I had to force all three of my children...lol. But that's the beauty of homeschooling. We all have interests that are worthy of pursuing.
